MaRS’s ‘Entrepreneurship 101’ Free Lecture Series

When – February 19

Interested in learning more about entrepreneurship? Looking to start a new venture? Look no further!

Entrepreneurship 101 is MaRS’s flagship free weekly lecture series featuring key topics related to starting a successful business, aimed at social innovators, technology and life sciences researchers and trainees.  Topics include funding your business, marketing, recruiting, intellectual property and more.

The course culminates in a business plan pitch competition called the Up-Start! Competition, in which selected participants compete for a $15,000 prize.

BrainStation’s Hour of Code

When – February 25

The BrainStation team host complimentary intro to coding workshops for complete beginners on the last Tuesday of every month. Learn the basics of HTML and CSS from amazing educators at BrainStation that are experienced industry professionals. Build your first website with BrainStation!

FITC Toronto 2014

When – April 27-29

FITC Toronto will feature 75 renowned digital creators from around the world covering design, creativity, and technology, including talks about biohacking, remote-controlled cockroaches, a 98-year-old digital artist, the leading edge in neuroscience tech, an artist who offers professional kidnapping – and that’s just a fraction of this year’s talent. The festival includes three full days, plus one optional day of pre-festival workshops, 1200 attendees from around the globe, endless networking opportunities, and evening parties and events including the FITC Awards party.
